Michael Rosen - Year 3 Class

Michael Rosen Class

Welcome to Michael Rosen Class! We are a class of Year 3 children and our class teacher is Miss Dale. Mrs Papworth is our teaching assistant Monday-Thursday. Mrs Antliff will teach us PE every Wednesday afternoon.

This year all of our classes are named after famous poets. Michael Rosen is a very famous British poet where he has written over 200 books for children and adults. Some of his most popular books include We're Going on a Bear Hunt and Chocolate Cake. Where he has won lots of awards for his work in Children's literature.

Reading

Reading is one of the most valuable skills your child will ever learn, and regular reading at home makes a huge difference to their progress, confidence, and enjoyment of books. We are encouraging every child to read every night at home – whether that’s a school reading book, a library book, or even sharing a favourite story together.

To celebrate and reward this important habit:

  • Children will receive Dojo points for reading.

  • Parents must sign their child’s reading record each time they read so we can award the points accurately.

  • Dojo points will be awarded every Friday.

  • We will also celebrate reading by naming a “Reader of the Week” in our Pride in Progress Assembly every Friday.

  • Please look out for recommended reading lists and suggestions that we will send home throughout the school year.

Thank you for supporting your child’s learning by making reading part of your daily routine – even 10 minutes a night adds up to a huge difference over the year. Together, we can help every child develop a lifelong love of reading!
